Thanks Dick, Well, first off, I must admit to living in the States now! But I've lived mainly in Europe the past 20 years - Ireland, France, the U.K. and Greece. That's what caught my attention about this forum. Moved back to the US about 6 months ago, and now trying to get out and play more. It's going well so far, hooked up with an old friend who plays fiddle and we've been playing some gigs recently around Vermont. In Greece I played banjo at gigs, but it was mainly backing up covers - not much fun. So, I've been playing banjo about 20 years. My father, who was Scottish, taught me and I also picked up a fair amount from books and recordings. Mainly clawhammer/rapping/frailing but also old-timey three finger picking. I'm a big fan of guys like Wade Ward, Virgil Anderson, Dock Boggs, Frank Proffitt, Buell Kazee and most of all, Hobart Smith. I recorded an album a few years ago, myself, and there are songs from it up on my website: www.hunterrobertson.comSo! I look forward to seeing the goings on in the old-time world over there in the "old world". Hunter

Welcome aboard Hunter
I remember stumbling across your website some years ago. I thought your music sounded great, and I don't know why I forgot about it. To me it sounds like what oldtime music would sound like if it was played by Tom Waits or Captain Beefheart. Great stuff.
/Tobias

Thanks Tobias, yeah that Beefheart/Waits/Pogues thing! Once exposed to them it's like a virus, hard to shake off.

Hey Hunter, it's good to have another singer on board here. I'm sure you know these links already, but perhaps you can recommend a few more for us? Old Time Song LinksCheers Dick
