Hi there! Hope you are all in good shape and in tune for a good week-end. I have been in the music business since the age of 12 where I joined a marching band. My trade is music publishing and recording. Began playing Keltic folk music in the early 70ths. Then in 74 we began playing cajun and a little bit bluegrass. In 1976 I began playing the bull fiddle in a bluegrass band and for the next 10 years had a great time doing that . In the mean time I was offered the job on bass in an old time band from Copenhagen. And from 84 til now have I been slapping the bass in 4 string bands. I have played and still does following styles Keltic Bluegrass, Country and Cajun Old Time Mountain Music the Old School and West Virginia Style New Orleans Jazz Modern and Happy Jazz Blues, Rhythm and Blues and Rock Rockabilly and American Folk My main instrument is the guitar. Other instruments I play is Mandolin Piano and harmonica Favorite LPS are Plank Road, Horse Flies, Troublesome Creek String Band, Fuzzy Mountain String Band and June Apple and High Atmosphere My favorite group is The Dogpatch Possum Whackers Best regards John

Ha Ha John, early 70s eh? Sounds like you are almost as "long in the tooth" as I am! ;D
Yip, I started playing music about the same time, but my first instrument was a small drum kit, Snare Drum, Bass Drum & High Hat & I used to bash the living daylights out of it to Bluesy Rock Music like "Free".
However, I was living in Ireland at the time & by '73 I'd done seen da light & began taking an interest in Trad Irish Music .... which sealed my fate, so to speak!
Thanks for listing your favourite Old Time musicians ... I'm off to check them out.
Cheers Dick

Yes John. We're working on it. We have done so this afternoon, and I think we have about 14 tunes in the can, but having it done before christmas is not possible. It will be a mix of instrumentals and songs. The plan right now looks like it's going to be about 8 instrumentals and 10 songs. But let's see. It's fun to do though.
