I've just added to the poll.
So to give y'all some background on myself, as you can tell from the y'all, I ain't frum aroun' there - Europe, that is. I currently live in Chattanooga, TN, having recently moved there from Raleigh, NC.
I play and teach dulcimer. I've played music most of my life, but only 8 years ago started playing dulcimer, and love it. I mainly play Old-Time, Irish, Scottish, and English, plus a few tunes I wrote myself. We've discovered the host of Old-Time musicians in our new area of Chattanooga, and there are some fine players around here. Once I get settled in, I hope to play more with them and get to know them.
Although I am not from around Ireland, personally, my ancestors lived in Larne, Co. Antrim, back in the 1600s and 1700s, and some relatives still do live there. They would be some of the Youngs, Whites and Greens in the area, and all the Sitlingtons.
Guess I'll stop now and get on with others things.
I'm looking forward to the discussions.
Cheers!
Rick (dulcimike)

Good to have you here Rick.
I'm just wondering if there is an original Chattanooga over here somewhere, or is your one in TN the first?
Cheers Dick

Cheers DickI think it's an American Indian word, so I doubt if there's Chattanooga over there. I'm not sure, but it might mean, "White man has pointy head like that big mountain over there." Maybe that's a very loose translation. ;-)
