I'm sure I've read it in this forum but I recall reading that one of the current bands plays Big Scioty with a lyric source credited to Richie Stearns.
I've been asked to find out if it was Richie who put the lyrics (related to 'what shall we do with the baby-o') together with Big S. and if so, does anyone know if he recorded it - and on what recording - or if there was an earlier source.
Thanks Nick

I have it on my computer. It is with the fine swedish old-time band Rockridge Brothers. It is the only version I have heard with lyrics. I think I have downloaded it from their myspace site. But it is not there anymore. And it is 'what shall we do with the baby-o' Kristian, the banjo player in Rockridge is a member of this forum. I hope he won't mind me posting the tune. www.jesperdeleuran.dk/media/Big-Scioty.mp3Jesper

But that didn't answer your question, is Richie Sterns the source? I don't know. But we can hope that Kristian, sees this thread. He must know.

I remember reading that The Rockridge Brothers credited Richie Stearns for the lyrics. The traditional versions tune didnt have lyrics to my knowledge.
