I noticed that when I go to Cdbaby.com, buying the CD's as MP3's are no longer an option "in my region". Thats what it says where it used to have the Buy As Mp3 button. I wonder why? This really sucks... ...but I think there is a way around it. To bad I am to broke to try it. /Tobias

Yes, I noticed that myself, last time I was on. Mind you, I didn't take it personally! If there is a way round it, I'd love to know what it is? ....... e.g. Tobias, my PM window is always open! Cheers Dick

Got a mail from CD-baby today:
Hi Tobias -
Thanks for writing!
For legal reasons, we recently stopped selling MP3 downloads to customers outside of the United States. Selling MP3s outside of the US would require CD Baby to negotiate with many, many collection societies and pay royalties on behalf of our Artists. We just don't have the people-power to do this across the globe.
The good news is that most of the music on CD Baby has been distributed to iTunes and iTunes is available in many countries outside the US.
I am really sorry for the disappointment -- we just needed to be in compliance with International regulations.
Most of our albums are available as a physical CD and we can certainly send these to any destination.
I hope that helps! If you have any other questions or if I can help with anything else, just let me know, OK?
/Tobias

Fair enough. Looks like I'll just have to learn to be a little more patient. Cheers Dick

I think their reason for stopping the mp3 sale outside the US is understandable. And I like the folks at CD Baby. It seems like they are nice people, and I love the mails they send when they have send a CD. Good humor. And they are for some reason faster than anybody else I have bought anything from in the US. 2-4 days and none more than a week. That's fast from the western coast of US all the way to Denmark.
I became curious when I saw that most of their stuff could be bought on iTunes, so I tried to check out the CD's I have bought from CD Baby. And none of them showed up except one. Maybe because there is a difference in iTunes in the different countries.
The one I found is a gem though. Mountain Galax Style Dulcimer with Bonnie Russell And he Russel Family Check it out. I can't recommend that one enough. If you are interested in old-time style mountain dulcimer from the heart of the Kentucky roots, I don't think you can find any better. It's music made in heaven.
It can be bought on amazon.co.uk too, as I have written elsewhere.
