a splendid cd that is. Maire Ni Chathasaigh and Chris Newman has made this fantastic cd and it is on Old Bridge Music. Their version of Big Scioty, Big Scotia, is all the money worth. And one of the best is on clawhammer..Chathy Fink. They have recorded 6 cds and I`m gonna bye them all. cheers, John

Hi John. It looks interesting, but sadly I haven't found a place where it is possible to hear a little taste of the combo you talk about. I found a couple of CD's in the iTunes store though with Máire Ní Chathasaigh & Chris Newman. Just harp and guitar, and it is nice, but not what I would consider old-time. And then I searched for Cathy Fink in iTunes and loads of CD's popped up. Most of them childrens records in collaboration with Marcy Marxer. Not exactly my cup of tea. But there are two solo CD's with Cathy Fink, that I would recommend to those of you out there who like to listen to clawhammer. The titles are: "Banjo Haiku" and "Banjo Talkin'". The first one is instrumental banjo solos and on the other she sings accompanied by her banjo only. Great stuff !!! Just now I saw that F-ireWire can be bought on amazon.co.uk £ 12.99. Here comes the link: www.amazon.co.uk/Firewire-Maire-Ni-Chathasaigh/dp/B000LP5DME/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1206370003&sr=1-1But sadly, they don't give out any tastes either.
