I've just had an e-Mail from The Black Twig Pickers.
The guys are already booked to play in Belgium, but they are keen to extend their tour, so if you fancy booking them, or think you can help them in any way, or maybe even just want to say hello, why not get in touch via their MySpace.

Hello Dick,
I'm writing from the Black Twig Pickers, a U. S. old-time trio based in SW Virginia (songs, various info back on our myspace site if you're interested).
We've been invited to play in Belgium in July and are trying to figure how to make a week of shows out of the trip.
I'm casting about myspace for old-time-friendly-looking sites on your side of the ocean and came across yours.
Any suggestions you have for possible shows, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
I realize Ireland's a good ways from the Low Countries, but what the heck --
Cheers,
--mg

The Black Twig Pickers ~ MySpace
Starting in a dark alley between the campers at the 1999 Galax Old Fiddlers Convention and named for an archaic apple variety from founding fiddler Ralph Berrier Jr.'s family orchard, the Black Twig Pickers' fiddle/banjo/ guitar/washboard/whatsis racket has sounded in dives, barns, streets and dances from Amsterdam to Atlanta.

The Black Twigs ~ Website
4th full length from the Black Twigs finds a slightly reshuffled lineup and a renewed emphasis on kicking out raw, percussive takes on both Appalachian traditional and original material. With Ralph Berrier Jr.’s retirement from the group, Mike Gangloff has added fiddle to his already considerable arsenal, and along with stalwart guitarist Isak Howell, brought in Nathan Bowles (Spiral Joy Band) on percussion and several guests who make substantial contributions to the party. The Twigs work the fine line between the Friday night old-time dance party and the wellspring of grim and evocative tragedy that runs through the tradition, delivering these laments, travelogues, and wild whoops with sawing, rocking joy.
