Hi Dick and thanks for the tip. That cd is a must. Fine violin playing and a hot rockin banjo. The guitar playing is adequate. I will bye the cd tomorrow. Pleasant dreams cheers, John

There are and has been so many great string bands so to name them all will take some time. But I think that it will be ok to mention this string band The New Lost City Ramblers. The members were John Cohen, banjo Tom Paley, guitar Mike Seeger, guitar, violin and banjo They made a big impact on the folk music scene and influenced others to learn to play in trad. mt. fiddle, guitar and banjo styles cheesr, John

and by the way , The Bogtrotters from Galax was a very fine string band. Wade Ward, banjo Fields Ward, guitar and Crokett Ward on fiddle Alan Lomax has made some fine recordings of them.

Been busy forming a new big band stumbled over an old reel to reel recording with Plank Road dating from the time they were in Ã…rhus many many years ago. They are still my favorite string band. aka Fat Meat Boys John
