A good friend of mine told me this true story some years ago.
He was asked to sit in on double bass in a New Orleans Jass Band. It was on his birthday but what the heck! He could use the money. And off he went. Everybody had a great time and when they heard that it was his birthday, well they knocked down a few. He got a little toxicated and was told that he could stay the night over in the old school house. And so hi did. When he woke up he had himself a cup of coffee and started to load his van. Come to the double bass he found out that his band mates had filled it with bottle tops. Happy Birthday!!! It took him the whole day to get them out. Shake rattle and roll.

A nice looking bass for a real modern Old Time String Band. Or is it a wrench? cheers, John
