I have a couple of home made videos, most of them made using the built-in web camera, so they're not great fun to watch, but I made them mostly to share my picking with online friends. Remember I'm just a happy amateur, not as professional as Dick or Jesper, so don't be too critical! I'm just messing around with the mandolin and having fun with it. A couple of oldtime standard tunes: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ld_GGjA9NKMJune Apple and Clinch mountain backstep: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jTHir7lbDIDaniel and myself doing Angel Band for a friend of mine who was having a rough time: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W-NdUwx-_EA piece of Old Joe Clark, recorded using You Tube Quick Capture. LOUSY! Will never use it again:) I think it sounds quite good though. I'll have to do a decent recording of this soon. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvhJgzHs6l0Myself and Daniel playing "All the good times are past and gone" at the pub talent contest in the Courtmacsherry area. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGRSrX4-6Z8

First, I'm prejudiced in favour of your videos, because I have seen them before a couple of times, and I thought they were good then, and still do. So you don't have to apologize for anything. I am green with envy everytime I see that mandolin of yours. It is a beauty and it sounds so fine. An I have the advantage, that I have seen it live, and had the pleasure to touch it a little bit.
I think Down Trodden String Band is british. On their MySpace profile it says: Bakewell, UK and Asheville, United States. They sound british, so I guess that's what they are, and maybe a member is from the US.

Last night I made a video of myself playing fiddle. I have never done that before...so I don't know why I decided to play a tune that I have just started to learn...Maybe because I really like it.
A great tune from Kentucky called "Sally's Got Mud Between Her Toes"

Great hammering Hunter. And Tobias great fiddling. But I guess I have already said that? Now I must see if I can find out how to make a video myself.

Yay, y'all sound great!!! And yes, Jesper, you must make a video of yourself. You should be able to do it if you have a Macbook (or is it a desktop Mac you have?) because they all have built in web cameras.

Sorry Susi, I have a desktop computer. It is a mini mac and a 20 inch screen and no build in camera. And I have no video camera, but I have a digital camera that might do the job. So if I can find a day when I am home alone, I might do it. But until then maybe you'd like to hear a recording I made last week playing both rythm and solo on the 1920's Harmony parlor guitar I bought in january. You saw it in Kattinge, didn't you? Not a video but anyway.... Beaumont Rag. www.jesperdeleuran.dk/media/Musik/My_own_recordings/Beaumont%20Rag%202.MP3

Jesper - you ROCK!!!!! I've wanted to learn this tune for ages but I never remember how the B part goes. Maybe I can start playing around with it now when I have a such nice and clean recording!! You are great, keep them coming!!! My latest recording is my funny Merry Christmas video in which I attempt to play my newest music acquisition (how do you spell that???), it's a great laugh and it's up on You Tube. ;D

Hey Susi. Thank you for the funny video. Another funny thing is I have for the last two days recorded a couple of christmas songs played like old-time tunes. Or as close as I can get. First it is a danish christmas song, Dejlig er den himmel blaa. (Lovely is the sky so blue) www.soundlantern.com/UpdatedSoundPage.do?ToId=25393And today I made Jingle Bell. I thought it is such a jolly melody, so it might speed up the dancing around the tree a bit www.soundlantern.com/UpdatedSoundPage.do?ToId=25484I play the same old guitar on two tracks and mandolin on the third. And with this I will wish you and all the other good people here on the OT forum a merry christmas an a very happy new year. Cheers! Jesper

Hey Jesper, nice stuff. Great Beaumont Rag!
Lucky you Susi living over there in Ireland, I love the place. I seem to find myself living there every 10 years or so. I really like your Angel Band, gorgeous song.
